Yujie is a patent specialist practicing in the areas of optical, mechanical, chemical, optical materials, and medical devices.

Prior to becoming a patent specialist, Yujie earned an M.S. in Patent Law (MSPL) from the University of Minnesota where she studied patent law,  patent preparation, and prosecution.

Prior to her MSPL program, Yujie earned a Ph.D. in Material Science and Engineering from Virginia Tech, where she did research on optical sensors, ceramics, and optomechanical system design. Following her Ph.D., Yujie was a postdoc fellow at Mayo Clinic.

During her postdoc fellowship at Mayo Clinic, she was working closely with faculties, research fellows/technicians, and physicians in Pharmacology and Radiology. 

In her spare time, Yujie enjoys listening to songs from different artists.
