“On this International Women’s Day, I want to thank the one and only, the first, the few – the one and only woman in her chemistry class, in her engineering class, in her math class, in her law class… the first female research scientist, first female astronaut, first female engineering professor…the few women who stood strong in their pursuit of their STEM careers — those women who stood out and followed their dreams which paved the way for the success of women today in the innovation ecosystem. Because of them, we have women today making ground-breaking discoveries, inventing life-saving drugs, creating revolutionary materials, and contributing to the betterment of humanity. We have a stronger foundation for young women today in all areas of science and technology. The best way to thank these women, is to acknowledge their incredible achievements, build on their work, to be a role model, and to continue to encourage young women and girls to stand up, stand out, and enter that classroom, that laboratory, that workshop, and that Board room where they can make a difference.”
