BIOGRAPHY
Ricardo J. Moran, Ph.D., is a highly experienced patent attorney with more than 25 years of experience helping life sciences and technology companies secure and maximize the value of their intellectual property. His practice focuses on patent preparation and prosecution, global portfolio strategy, and complex IP matters involving pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, immunology, and advanced chemical technologies. Dr. Moran advises multinational corporations, universities, and emerging companies on building and defending high-value patent portfolios, conducting freedom-to-operate analyses, and navigating strategic transactions. He brings a practical, business-oriented perspective shaped by in-house experience at GE Healthcare, where he worked alongside R&D, regulatory, and commercial teams on cutting-edge diagnostic technologies.
Dr. Moran has presented multiple webinars on key patent law topics, including obviousness-type double patenting and Section 101 patent eligibility, and is recognized for providing clear, strategic guidance on complex IP issues. Dr. Moran was also a faculty member at the AIPLA Patent Prosecution Boot Camp from 2024 to 2025.
