BIOGRAPHY

Eric is a patent attorney with over 25 years of experience. His practice has included the preparation and prosecution of patent applications across a variety of technologies, including electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, medical device, chemical, optical, and computer-implemented/software fields. Eric also assists clients in the procurement of trademarks, including oppositions, cancellations, and license agreements. He further maintains a robust practice in client counseling, including opinions of infringement/invalidity, and in litigation matters.

Eric has authored multiple intellectual property articles and served as an expert on nationally broadcast panels on patent and trademark matters. Technically, Eric has significant experience across various cross-disciplinary fields, including wireless communications technologies, additive manufacturing, semiconductors, medical/biological devices, thin-film transistors, solar cells, and nanotechnologies. He has worked extensively in semiconductor design, physics, and materials science, as well as in a variety of communications fields involving mobile electronics, vehicle-to-vehicle communications, video processing, and media content streaming. Prior to his legal career, Eric worked in engineering and research areas for the automotive and plastics industries. He is experienced in prototype modeling, failure analysis, and in the design, installation, and operation of electronic controls, robotics, and communications systems.

Eric is involved with non-profit and community organizations. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Eagan Athletic Association, where he serves as Director of Rugby for their K-12 program. He also sits on the boards of the Metropolis Foundation and the Eagan Rugby Boosters, both Minnesota-based non-profit organizations that promote youth athletics.
